IT Students of KMITL win 3 prizes from the NSC 2018

It is the other chance for the IT Students of KMITL, to prove their performance on the contest stage of the country when they can get 3 prizes from the contest on the National Software Contest, NECTEC : NSC 2018, the contest on the field of Software Development of the country that has been arranged yearly continually. The objectives of the contest are to support and promote the development of computer programs of students of high schools, and universities, and to improve the creative skill computer program writing which is considered to be important for the development of industrial software in the future, moreover, the contest is considered to be the stage to offer the place to Thai youths to show their competency of computer and program writing technique. For this year, the contest is arranged on March 14-16, 2018 at the Fashion Island Shopping Mall.

For this year, the are 3 prizes for the IT student group of KMITL, winning the 3rd prize from the 3 concepts of the contest:

The 3rd prize for the special concept of “BEST 2018: extreme contest on Human Detection Contest”, the contest team comprises Mr. Thitikorn Na Ayutthaya, master student, the project owner, and Asst.Prof. Dr. Kitsuchart Pasupa, the project advisor. The winning project is named “Let’s Count How Many People in the VDO”, the Deep Learning Technology is applied on this one for the Detection and Segmentation of each people from individual frame of the VDO before using Partition for each part of human body to be compared for similarity by using Color Histograms Technique. Finally, Clustering process will be executed: the numbers of people in the VDO will be equal to those of the result from the Clustering one. It can be applied for utilization on the operation of human access at any place from the recorded video of CTV.

The third prize on the special concept of “Extreme Contest of AI”; the team is composed of 2 bachelor students, Mr.Thanawat Lordkaew and Mr. Nut Chukamphaeng, and the advisor of the team is Dr. Kitsuchart Pasupa. The project is named “Fashion Finder”, web application for searching Shopping places on Instagram by using pictures of products for the searching instead of typing keyword or text for the searching. For this work, Convolutional Neutral Network or CNN, one of the Deep Learning Algorithms, is applied. Such algorithm is widely used in Computer Vision, nowadays.

The 3rd prize on the Concept of “Program for Science and Technology Development, for graduate student.”; the team consists of 2 bachelor students, Ms. Amita Mongkokpreedachai and Mr. Trisak Trisenee. The advisor of the team is Asst.Prof.Dr. Theerapong Leelanupap. The project name is “MR-Chain- Blockchain as a Service for Medical Record” or “MR Chain - the system to control patient access using Blockchain”. It is the platform for system development for website of hospital using backend control technology of Smart Contract in the blockchain. It is the usage of  the prominent part of blockchain for patient’s information and authentication storing. Moreover, Decentralized Application working on this platform is also done. The major part that the patient can fully get their right of information owner by checking and following the used information that the hospital officer needing the information must be app permitted first.
