SUPPORTIVE COURSE OF FINANCIAL ENGINEERS TO BE READY FOR THE TIME OF THE DIGITAL TRANSACTIONS.

King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in cooperation with the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) prepare to support the continual international program for "Financial Engineers" to speedily produce the financial engineers for the workforce market in the financial and banking industries. Actually, Thailand is currently experiencing a shortage of skilled professionals in the field of Fin Tech or financial technology.

Prof. Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, President of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), said that the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), as the leading science and technology institute of the Nation had the goal to raise the educational level and personnel competency of the country to have competitive knowledge of economic power. It had to have sustainable accelerated development and expansion of the supportive curriculum for the modern global economic revolution. KMITL has joined the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NIDA), and launched the academic cooperation project to cooperatively promote education for learners, expert support, and joint research to be ready for opening of  the course  "Financial Engineering", which became the first joint course between the NIDA and KMITL, the integration of  engineering, finance, and banking knowledges by utilizing the supportive strengths and potential of each institution for maximum promising benefit for young students able to grow into a major force in future country development; To improve a tertiary of education to upper level to be ready in response to the national growing industry.

The FinTech has been rapidly evolving and has been progressively playing an interesting role in financial transactions, banking and investment on stock exchange markets.  In foreign countries, the FinTech has long been applied to the industry. For example, artificial intelligence (AI) and computer-aided learning (Machine Learning) techniques are used to analyze financial data for effective financial investment and risk management, detection of fraud in financial transactions (Robo Advisor); In addition, over the past one to two years, the Fintech has also created the disruption onto the global financial industry and IT with the innovation of the finance like digital currency or Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technology, which has been pushing up a large number of startups industries applying the FinTech on the  financial service improvement to let global customers be served directly; However, some problems of the digital banking often have been happened, such as failures of online financial transactions, Cyber Crime problem, online security problems, and cyber financial fraud, etc., Such online financial problems have been caused by the growth of Fin Tech while having shortage of FinTech specialist. Co-course international program of the  "Financial Engineering" of NIDA-KMITL must confidentially be a major course of the country to accelerate the supportive workforce from the new graduates to meet the need of the markets of the financial industry and banks. It is expected that the country will have more skilled personnel in the field. It will help alleviate problems in finance and banking. This is happening in the present effectively. It is an important force in the development of the country's industry. To respond to the situation in the world.

Associate Professor Dr. Pradit Wannarat, President of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), said that the KMITL-NIDA Double Degree Program in Financial Engineering was a collaborative project between NIDA and KMITL, the Continuing Bachelor-Master Program of the history. The two joint institutions have jointly developed the networking international modern curriculum consistent with the direction of national educational development focusing on the Nation's value with the domestic universities and foreign ones. It was expected that the joint program should produce competitive Master students with the potential ready to be a major force in the development of the country. It was the way to produce a leader who can drive the change leading to innovation beneficial to Thai and worldwide societies.

The FinTech curriculum is designed as the international English Program of bachelor - master's degree of 4 + 1, 5- years course or dual 10-semesters divided into two phases: 1. Bachelor level: A four-year or eight-semesters bachelor's degree. 2. Master level: A one-year or two-semesters master's degree.   Studying Courses:  economics and financial, financial mathematics, computer programming and related technology, financial engineering integrated to related courses, field practicing courses with leading financial institutes of the Nation; such joint course has been under processing of approval of the 2 Institutes; NIDA-KMITL, it could be expected that the approved course should be ready for new students on the first semester of September 2019, through the direct admission of the KMITL’s. over the FinTech course, the students could be instructed by actual and invited instructors from leading businesses and financial Institutes together with necessary financial researches and novice practicing inside the cooperative businesses, as well. The FinTech course would be seamlessly integrated throughout 3 major courses; Economic and Finance Theory, Methods of Engineering, and Tools of Mathematics, together with Computer Programming. It is to provide the specialists of financial business directly to the workforce market under the era of complex business, to the smart business of Algorithmic Trading with the Artificial Intelligence Integration in the world of FinTech, Financial Technology.
